Within this post, I will discuss about the trip to Singapore with three ways I have done. Each trip has a different price, and it also depends on your way to spent the money.
1. Only RM 137,83
Starting from Kuala Lumpur. Find your nearest station, which in this trip I went to Bandar Tasik Selatan Bus Station. There you can go to the counters of each bus or buy tickets at the ticket counter that has been provided in the center of the main lobby. You can ask the officer to find a bus to Johor Bharu, the price is around RM31.20 bound directly to Larkin terminal in Johor Bharu. From the terminal you can use the Larkin bus to JB Sentral and it will be cheaper. But because that's my first time in Johor Bharu so I used a taxi from the Larkin Bus Station to JB Sentral (Malaysian Custom Building) and it cost around RM8 (will be cheaper if you travel with friends, so you can share price).
JB Sentral is the Immigration building, where here will be the place for passport stamped before exit from Malaysia. After arriving at the JB Sentral, just follow the pedestrians who all of them going to Singapore. After completion of immigration affairs, go down using escalator or follow the sign board showing platform for the bus to Singapore. The colour of the bus to singapore is yellow named Causeway Link, take the bus to Bugis destination and it cost only RM2.5 (do not forget to save the ticket because it will be checked again when you arrived in Singapore).
After hop-in the bus, prepare your passport because of the distance from Malaysia - Singapore immigration is only about 10-15 minutes. After arriving in the area of Singapore Immigration, follow the pedestrian to stamp the passports. Singapore Immigration is a bit hard, so be careful with your luggage and you should know one of the hotels are located in Singapore because this is needed to fill out on the arrival card in Singapore (just search on google, a lot). Once you completed immigration singapore, go down and follow the pedestrians and find the bus causewaylink to bugis (not necessarily the same bus as you took before, as long as the same destination).
After arriving at Bugis Station, look for the nearest
MRT station (MRT is common public train in Singapore, click here to see MRT's Map). Buy tickets to Harbour Front station. Provide yourself about 10 dollars = RM24.6 to buy MRT ticket while you are in Singapore (the MRT ticket need deposit, you can take your S$1 deposit on the exit). After arriving in the Harbour Front station, exit to VIVO City plaza where the the monorail station to Sentosa Island located. Later on the Vivo city plaza there will be a signboard showing the "Monorail to Sentosa island". This monorail ticket is about S$3 = RM7.38 and can be used as return ticket.
Well you certainly hot right? because you haven't showered yet. It was easy, first go to the Siloso Beach Station, there is an artificial beach and you can play around and take pictures around this area and no need to pay. Once you finished, near this area there are public baths provided "free of charge". After you finished, you can move on to other places in Sentosa Island like Universal Studio (additional charge S$ 50++).
After being played on the Sentosa Island, it's time to go back to the city. Its already mid-Day, time for lunch. Here at the Vivo City Plaza, got a Minangkabau Food Restaurant, it cost around S$5 = RM12.3 to eat here (depends on what you take). After lunch, the first place to be addressed is the marina bay, take the MRT to the marina bay station. Here got the Statue of Merlion, Esplanade (durian building), Marina Bay Sands hotel (there are three towers at top of the building resembles a ship), and the world's first floating Football field.
Once you finished take pictures in Singapore's icons, it's time to enjoy the views of famous places to shop in Singapore that is Orchard Road, where this place filled by a lot of Indonesians to shop. After traveling in orchard road, it's time to buy souvenirs. A good place to buy souvenirs is Bugis Street. Take the MRT to Bugis Station, cross the street from station to BugisStreet. There are so many places to buy souvenirs and allowed for bargain. Budget to buy souvenirs is depends on your needs.
Now it's time to go back to Kuala Lumpur. Take the Bus Causeway Link again from Bugis to JB Central in Johor Bharu, now the cost is S$2.5 = RM6.15. Prepare your passport for immigration checking. After finished the immigration check, take the same bus to go to JB Central. Here is the last immigration check before entering Malaysia. Now save the passport in your savety pocket. Again take the taxi to Larkin Bus Station cost around RM8. At the station, buy the Bus Ticket to Kuala Lumpur, see the TRANSNASIONAL Bus the cost is around RM31.20. Before leaving Johor Bharu, still got time for dinner at the station there. The Mamak (Muslim Indian Food) shop offered some nice food and affordable price. Last time I ate there cost around RM6.5 (i took a lot of food). After dinner, it's time for leaving to Kuala Lumpur. And that's how I went to Singapore with only RM137.83...
